O-ACT was formed in December 2020 as an educational component for Opelika Theatre Company to introduce and educate individuals, ages Pre-K through Adults, in all areas of theatre and the performing arts through classes, workshops, and live theatre experiences.

O-ACT's educational program is modeled from several regional and community theatre programs from areas such as The Springer Opera Theatre in Columbus, GA; Theatre Memphis and Playhouse on the Square in Memphis,TN; and The Wetumpka Depot Players in Wetumpka, AL.

O-ACT Objectives and Goals are to offer Opelika, Auburn, Lee County and surrounding communities educational exposure to all areas of the performing arts. Such goals must be carefully introduced in phases.

The O-ACT Curriculum Format began with Acting/Improv classes in December 2020. Musical Theatre classes were added in September of 2021. Breaking classes down to Beginner and Intermediate levels was established in September 2022.
